Remote Sensor Scientist
Leidos is in search of a Remote Sensor Scientist in a fast–paced research and development team. The individual will:
Work with EO/IR imagery systems with image and video collection characterization and exploitation problems.
Apply remote sensing principles and methods to analyze data and solve problems, including developing new sensor systems and
developing analytical techniques or new applications for existing systems.
Provide scientific analysis and products collected from the exploitation of EO/IR and remote sensing data.
Support informational briefings for educating analysts and managers on the capabilities of image data and their potential application.
Design collection experiments and compare measured results with modeled data.
Apply optical science and engineering to develop active or passive electro-optical and infrared remove sensing applications.
Perform analysis and conducts experiments to characterize and model the optical characteristics of the atmosphere and various target materials.
Work on projects that may include writing scientific codes for clutter and noise mitigation, image reconstruction, compressive sensing, tracking, detection, feature extraction, and classification, stereo and machine learning, signal processing, and radiometric calculations.
Find unique exploitation techniques and brief customers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: (list the “must have” requirements to be considered for hire)
Actve TS/SCI clearance
Ability to write scientific code for clutter and noise mitigation
Familiarity with signal processing and radiometric calculations
15+ years related experience with BS and MS degree in addition to post Master's Degree course work (no experience substitution allowed for education requirement)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
