About Hawai‘i Energy

Hawai‘i Energy is a ratepayer-funded energy program under contract with the Hawai‘i Public Utilities Commission.  We help educate island families and businesses about the many and lasting benefits of energy efficiency and conservation. Hawai‘i Energy encourages and rewards smart energy decisions which will allow our state to reach 100% clean energy faster and cheaper. To date, we have saved the people of Hawai‘i more than a billion dollars off their energy bills.  Named by Hawai‘i Business Magazine as one of the “Best Places to Work 2018 “, we are looking for someone to join our team in driving energy initiatives which have immediate and local impact, and leave a legacy of sustainability for generations to come

Job Responsibilities:

We are hiring a Program Advisor (PA) to drive partnerships with our most strategic clients.  This role will directly promote and coordinate implementation of Hawaii Energy’s programs, incentives and advisory services to businesses to generate, advocate and accelerate the implementation of energy efficiency projects. The PA will work closely with key customers to provide advisory services and design new offerings that overcome barriers to implementing energy efficiency projects.

The PA should have working knowledge of the concepts of Strategic Energy Management (SEM). As a focus of SEM, the PA will be responsible for defining, developing, managing and deploying the Continuous Energy Improvement (CEI) program, individually organizing participants and coordinating cohort-level interventions. The PA will facilitate workshops to educate and motivate an organization’s employees toward energy efficient practices. The PA will work with engineering staff or consultants to track, measure and report energy savings to the organization and for resource acquisition metrics, and will also quantify non-energy benefits. The PA will work with engineering and program design staff to design CEI for resource acquisition metrics.

To accomplish this, the PA will establish and maintain deep and wide relationships within targeted sectors, especially with county governments. The PA must be able to identify market actors and provide input to innovate and modify program designs to meet goals in a changing market.

The PA should have an understanding of analyzing and presenting energy consumption data in order to prioritize projects, create a roadmap for efficiency upgrades, and document the process for reporting.
