Description:

Leidos has a career opening for a Corporate Events Planner located in Reston, VA.

JOB SUMMARY:

A member of the Corporate Events Team (Corporate Communications and Marketing), reporting to the Director, Corporate Events.  Team provides full-service strategic event planning that drives business, shapes behavior and achieves goals. The job of the Corporate Events Planner will include providing comprehensive, tactical meeting/event logistical support and event technology (Cvent) services for hundreds of events annually across the US and abroad. Provides direct support to Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Meeting/event venue site searches, hotel Request for Proposal (RFP) preparation/distribution, and vendor contract negotiations

•Group travel coordination

•Budgeting & cost savings tracking

•Organizing/archiving meeting data/files

•Catering and audio-visual coordination

•Web-based event invitation and registration site builds (Cvent)

•Attendee registrations and fee collection/processing

•Onsite staffing/facility management

•Conference materials development

•Invoice payment/reconciliation

•Post event support including tracking ROI via online survey/evaluation and hot-wash meetings

•Supplier procurements and budgeting

•Ensure that all policies/procedures are followed to be compliant with Federal Government regulations

•Travel (~25%) when necessary to support key meetings and events

•Evening/weekend work may be required

•Ability to telework 1 to 2 days a week after 6 months of employment


Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

•Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with 2 - 4+ years of experience in the meeting management, conference planning, and/or event technology industry

•Articulate, with strong written and verbal communication skills

•Excellent computer and analytical skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point

•Ability to create/maintain registration Websites, surveys, email invitations, etc.

•Ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced environment

•Team player with collaborative approach for managing complicated scenarios

•Confident individual with the ability to interact with all levels of management

•Detail oriented and organized

•Able to manage multiple events/logistics simultaneously in a professional, organized fashion

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

•Cvent technology experience; experience with similar event technologies and/or some html coding

•Certified meeting professional designation

•Active (past or present) related professional association membership(s)

•Procurement or finance background
