The Defense & Intelligence Group has a current opening for a Systems Admin/Tech Operations Specialist at our site in Tucson, AZ.

Leidos has a job opening for a current TS/SCI cleared Systems Administrator/Tech Operations Specialist The person in this position will be responsible for performing a full range of system administration, to include RedHat Linux operating system administration, configuration and reconfiguration, and database management tasks, to include server management, backup, recovery, and maintenance in a real-time on-line database and applications server. Participation in the installation, server configuration, and testing for patches and software will also be required. Selected candidate will provide system performance analysis and multi-server troubleshooting, and will be required to track and report system problems. Additionally, this person will provide feedback to the software development engineers on system performance and reliability. Interacting with government customers and providing and presenting customer briefings may be required. The candidate must have good written and oral communication skills.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Promptly responding to IT-related incidents and service requests and troubleshooting to resolve end-user problems
- Operating, maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environment including computer hardware, software, and related documentation in accordance with IT best practices
- Performing data backups and disaster recovery operations
- Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary
- Planning, coordinating, and implementing network security measures to protect data, software and hardware
- Interfacing with customer, technical staff, team members, and management to identify issues, negotiate changes, meet deadlines, markets services, and provide strong customer service both orally and in writing
-Tracking and supporting periodic hardware and software upgrades
-Working closely with support partners to promptly resolve incidents.


A Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of five years’ experience required, to include: System administration, Oracle database maintenance, testing, integration, and problem resolution. Experience administering large, multi-user workstation/Xterm client relational database structured application systems and web-based applications. Experience must include, in order of significance, Linux systems administration and scripting languages; Database administration: SQL query, forms, and reports generation; system/database performance monitoring, and multi-server troubleshooting.

Additional 4 yrs of experience in lieu of degree will be considered
A working knowledge of the Linux Operating Systems
A working knowledge of Windows Server and operating systems
Ability to establish/delete user accounts and submit requests for access
Ability to troubleshoot user problems and system anomalies
Ability to maintain customer IT hardware/equipment as needed
Ability to maintain general knowledge of IT industry, trends, and developments
Ability to work independently or as a lead in a team environment
Ability to proactively anticipate customer needs, analyze complex requirements, and ensure expectations are met within feasible cost and time projections
Ability to elicit information on technical problems form non-technical customers
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to explain procedures and moderately complex technical information, both orally and in writing.

CompTIA Server+, some development experience is recommended
