Description:
Our Defense & Intelligence Group has an opportunity for a Systems Administrator who will play a key part of the IT team supporting US Army Central (ARCENT) Forward G2 and all supported customers across the ARCENT Area of Responsibility at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, including both U.S. and coalition personnel. 
 
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for physical and virtual server operations & maintenance, storage area network support, basic and advanced Active Directory tasks, and troubleshooting on server, network, and desktop systems & office automation in support of the Service Desk as needed.  
  • Comfortable and conversant in all assigned topics, including briefing senior military leadership, leading projects, and training/mentoring junior administrators and technicians as assigned and tasked. Experience on Intelligence networks and/or a service desk in South West Asia a huge plus.
  • Install, administer, and maintain Windows servers, desktops, and laptops as part of the overall systems architecture across multiple networks and locations; strong understanding of and experience with Active Directory
  • Install, administer and maintain virtual environments (VMware 6.5) and physical hosts
  • Install, administer and maintain storage devices (NetApp) across multiple locations
  • Utilize physical inspection and GUI-based and/or command line tools (especially PowerShell) to troubleshoot basic to complex systems hardware, software, and configuration issues with systems, networks, and Active Directory
  • Develop, implement, and manage disaster recovery and COOP plans, systems, and operations in coordination with the Network team and other organizations
  • Basic network troubleshooting in support of the datacenter and workstation/LAN connectivity
  • Work with teammates as needed to document service structure, network, and server/storage architecture and ensure data security and availability for customers both local and deployed across multiple regions
  • Collect, review, and store server log files to identify and remediate system issues
  • Document system configurations using Visio, PowerPoint, Word, or other tools and propose, defend, and implement system changes; coordinate & assist cybersecurity personnel and teammates with system accreditation efforts
  • Apply security patches, IAVAs, STIGS, and updates (including operating system updates) for all assigned systems
  • Assist Service Desk technicians as needed with Tier I and Tier II troubleshooting and patching of desktop systems, software (MS Office, Java, Adobe), printer issues, and server/network related issues
  • Mentor, lead, and train junior technicians as directed; fill in for site lead as needed/directed.
  • Participate in or lead special projects and day‐to‐day operations as needed or assigned by the site lead, including surging to alternate locations for customer requirements or to backfill personnel during R&R or other absences

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications at Time of Hire:
  • Possess a strong customer service focus, team-oriented attitude, and impeccable ethics. Strong systems and network troubleshooting skills an absolute must
  • HS Diploma/GED + 10 yrs. experience, or Associate’s Degree + 8 yrs. experience, or Bachelor’s Degree + 6 yrs. experience, or Master’s Degree + 4 yrs. experience
  • 8140 IAT II IA Baseline Certification, such as Security+|ce; IAT III certification preferred
  • Computing Environment certs include: MCSA or E:Server12, VCP-DCP5.5 or 6; NCDA/NCIE Cluster mode are highly preferred
  • Active TOP SECRET clearance with immediate eligibility for SCI access at time of hire
  • Duty hours on-site are 12‐hours per day, 7 days a week, plus commute time and are subject to local labor law
  • On‐call 24x7, including weekends and holidays
  • Must have at least 36 months validity and 5 blank pages left on a U.S. passport.

  • Requires employee to obtain & maintain host nation work visa, including local/regional medical testing
  • Willing to live & work in the State of Kuwait or forward deploy to austere locations as directed, and follow all corporate and local site policies and host nation laws, customs, and courtesies.
  • Unaccompanied position includes off‐post housing and vehicle support provided by contract; however, operational requirements may dictate assignment and further deployment to austere locations as needed
