Description:

Test Engineer / System Integration—Air Traffic Control 

Leidos is seeking a Test Engineer / System Integration who will be a member of a dynamic team working on Federal Aviation Administration’s ERAM technology, which is the heart of the Next Generation Air Transportation System and the pulse of the National Airspace System helping to advance our transition from a ground-based system of air traffic control to a satellite-based system of air traffic management. ERAM is vital to the future of air navigation, providing the foundational platform required for FAA to enable NextGen solutions, via modernization programs such as System Wide Information Management, Data Communications, and Automatic Dependent Surveillance- Broadcast. ERAM will provide benefits for users and the flying public by increasing air traffic flow

Responsibilities: 

Working both as a member of a team and independently the successful candidate will be:
Modernizing the air traffic control tower equipment by improving the exchange of electronic flight data and implementing electronic flight strips. Development of CR Verification test plans/procedures
Development/test/validation of test scenarios
Test Execution in the Lab and Virtual Test Lab (VTL)
Data analysis necessary to verify test results and PR fixes
Identify software and system issues working across the various system functions and threads 
Deliver high quality work products on or ahead of schedule.
Follow all documented test processes.
Meet or exceed all individual and team objectives/milestones.
Use the most efficient methods to deliver a product, following test processes.
Maintain a team oriented and positive attitude.


Qualifications:

Typically requires a Bachelor’s of Science degree in a related discipline such as Electrical Engineering or Aeronautical Engineering with 2-4 years of professional experience; or less than 2 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree. 
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated technical integration skills in prior work performed
Understanding of Linux, AIX or other UNIX type operating system
Test or similar technical experience working with complex systems
Demonstrated success working in a team oriented environment 
Ability to work in a group or independently to ensure team goals are met
Ability to perform in a fast paced environment
Additionally, the following skills(s) experiences are preferred:
ERAM/Data-Comm Project experience
Knowledge of deploying of Air Traffic Control Systems
Knowledge and understanding of how to test complex systems
Experience preparing test plans & procedures
Experience in lab test execution
AT Simulation experience
Problem Determination / Data Analysis
FAA Air Traffic Domain knowledge
