Leidos has an immediate career opportunity for a Software Manager contingent upon contract award in San Antonio, Texas.
The Software Manager will provide technical expertise and functional management to a large cross-functional team for the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS) contract.
A successful candidate should have a background working within a fast paced product development /integration environment utilizing industry practices such as Project Management Institute (PMI), Agile Scrum, ITIL Service Delivery, and software engineering industry practices.
Providing leadership and direction to Software team members.
Guiding cross-functional implementation teams through solution delivery to ensure budget, schedule, and quality.
Identify and remediate issues and project risks early with the customer.
Perform staff management duties (e.g., staff planning, interviews, on-boarding, annual performance assessments and mentoring junior level resources to grow).
Collaborate with customer representatives on the requirements, design, and implementation of enhancements.
Contribute to the planning of release content for monthly releases.
Supporting and reviewing the development of customer deliverables.
Serve as a customer liaison for working issues and answering questions for customer representatives.
Establish and stimulate software development standards and processes along with best practices for delivery of scalable and high quality software.
Liaison with vendors to understand upgrades and enhancements for the COTS.
Education and Experience:
BA/BS or equivalent experience and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience.
4+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.
U.S. Citizenship Required.
Work will be in San Antonio, TX.
