Description:

The Defense & Intelligence Group of Leidos has an immediate opening for a Senior NOC Administrator at the Pentagon, Arlington, VA

 
JOB SUMMARY: 
 

Provide expert onsite technical management of the Joint Service Provider (JSP) for the Joint Staff J6 DDITS.  The Joint Staff J6 Network Operations Center (NOC) Manager strategically leads resources, processes, systems and functions to maintain and effectively execute an agile service response/escalation/resolution strategy which combines technical and analytical skills to maximize efficiencies and support to the customer.

  • Support a Tier 1/2/3/4, 24x7x365 operations environment.
  • Demonstrate technical guidance in establishing processes and procedures, and utilizing "best of breed" tools to support front-line troubleshooting and analysis of incidents
  • Aggressively monitor network and reporting services to ensure system events and outages are accurately documented.
  •  Properly escalate and communicate all major events and outages.
  •  Resolve all major events and outages as quickly as possible.
  • Gather timely information for outages, system degradation, reports, statistics, and trend analyses related to the overall network performance (system availability, utilization, data storage use, user access, etc.) and security status in accordance with JSP Network Operations Center Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs).
  • Lead Engineers to directly respond to various JSP teams (Service Desk, Executive Support, Applications/Servers, and Security Operations) and senior government officials as an escalation point for unresolved issues.
  • Monitor existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Contribute to and maintain system standards.
  • Research and recommend innovative approaches for system administration tasks and identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Experienced in Large-scale network operations and maintenance management
  • Progressive Network Operations Center management experience
  • Strong ability to lead and proactively research/engage for results resolution
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Department of Defense Directive 8570 (DoD 8570) compliance – IAM Level I (Security+ CE) minimum certification
  • DoD Top Secret with the ability to obtain a Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI) clearance

DESIRED SKILS:

  • Large-scale network management/operations center experience within the Pentagon
  • In-depth knowledge of the mission and functionality of the Joint Staff
  • ITIL certification
  • Firm Fixed Price project/program management
  • Financial management of IT projects/programs
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: 
  • Requires BS degree and 12 – 15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 – 13 years of prior relevant experience.
