The Advanced Solutions Group (ASG) at Leidos currently has an opening for a Systems Engineer to work in Dayton, OH. Interested in working on a project that spans the full life cycle of an advanced research topic?  A member of a dynamic team working from requirements and use case analysis, through modeling and simulation of multiple co-dependent airframe systems, systems integration lab test and evaluation, with flight test of advanced sensor and avionics systems.  

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Candidate would be responsible for the specification, design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems.
- Perform system engineering functions for hardware, network, and software components including: requirements specification; product and design evaluation; trade-off and selection analysis; modeling and simulation.
- Perform tasks of a high degree of complexity and difficulty with no supervision.
- Work with the engineering team to design, develop, implement, test, and support system software requirements.
- Work with Leidos Project Manager assisting the Government Program Office, Government Systems Engineers, and operational users to ensure delivered products exceed customer expectations and provide substantial value.

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering/technical discipline with 7+ years of software systems engineering experience; or a Master’s degree with 4+ years software systems engineering experience.  
- Must have an active Secret Security Clearance and be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance.
- Manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined system architecture(s) – Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), Service-oriented Architecture (SOA).
- Possess the knowledge and experience to perform complex and difficult system and specialty engineering tasks with no supervision.
- Coordinate the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, design reviews, program reviews, and test reviews that require cross-discipline coordination
- Participate in an Integrated Product Team to design new capabilities based upon evaluation of all necessary development and operational considerations
- Participate in the development of system engineering documentation, such as System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents
- Participate in interface definition, design, and changes to the configuration between affected groups and individuals throughout the life cycle
- Demonstrated experience in performing a variety of complicated tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration
- Working familiarity with Enterprise Architect, MagicDraw, Linux/Unix, VxWorks
- Experience with avionics and/or sensor integration along with appropriate DoD mission application
- Familiarity with Standardization Agreement (STANAG) requirements, communications standards and architectures.
- Experience writing/working on technical volumes or sections of proposals
- CMMI Processes, Agile (Scrum) Methods, Distributed Computing Architectures. Information Assurance/ CyberSecurity, Object-Oriented Design,  Service-Oriented Architecture, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
