Global Information Grid (GIG) Service Management-Operations (GSM-O), a Defense and Intelligence Group of Leidos has an opening for a Network Operations Lead at DISA HQS Ft Meade, MD.
Leidos is seeking a Network Operations Project Lead in support of the SIPRNet Access Migration (SAM) project to assist with the evolution of the SIPRNet into a unified communications infrastructure with Ethernet access and network encryption standardization / consolidation to align with JIE initiatives. In this role, you will provide both functional and hands on technical support.  Your primary responsibilities will be providing support to the direct customer PM and Leidos Integration leads, working to plan against global network project requirements, priorities schedules, resourcing and providing risk assessment/mitigation. You should have a working understanding of configuration, test, documentation, maintenance, administration, and operation of a variety of voice and data network protocol standards and a broad range of devices.

You should have functional experience with IT infrastructure installation or modernization efforts and should also have the ability to identify problems or help customers requiring assistance with network hardware, software, or inquiries.
This position is supporting the DISA customer as part of the GSM-O program. In this role, you will be expected to be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
In addition to your Functional Project Lead duties, you will support technical "hands-on" responsibilities which include:
- Support primary customer PM and Leidos Integration leads to understand and plan against global network project requirements, priorities, schedules, resourcing and risk assessment/mitigation.
- Supporting project processes and related process improvement initiatives for global network projects.
- Mentor and provide guidance/tasking to the lower level professionals across the Leidos work team.
- Assist the Program Manager and Integration leads to drive project performance against scope and schedule for a portfolio of projects across the task order.
- Performs first-level assistance to subscribers making new network connections or becoming operational. 
- Schedules, tracks and monitors subscriber integration events and status. 
- Support includes offsite assistance in network protocols, site preparation, test and acceptance, circuits, procedures, documentation, data collection and analysis, and bit error rate testing. 
- Coordinates technical assistance during installation, upgrade, cancellation and disconnection phases. 
- Coordinates with all parties involved in the implementation of operational services. 
- Provides advice to users regarding the optimal usage of the Management Information System. 
- Utilizes data base applications to manage the field service operation and generate required reports. 
- Serves as a central point of contact for clients to determine the status of implementation activities. 
- Implements and assists in the configuring of data communications processors, routers, switches, multiplexers, DSU/CSU modems, commercial carrier lines and related equipment. 
- Identifies problems and risk areas and mitigates their impact. 
- Uses functional expertise in Voice, Data and Video Services, Dedicated Data Services and knowledge to verify test and acceptance of DISN service from commercial vendors. 
- Schedules cutovers/activation and coordinates with users, service providers and all other supporting agencies to ensure cutover schedules are met. 
- Authorizes and approves technical changes to ensure successful transition of services. 
- Ensures changes are reported to the appropriate DISA elements so provisioning and historical documents can be corrected to show actual circuit or network configurations.

Requires BS degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain. Additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree
Required Experience:
- Excellent written and oral communications skills and management abilities.
- Expertise in identifying areas of improvement, critical dependencies, and process changes that enable the Government to attain integrated outcomes that are effective, efficient, sustainable, and improve customer satisfaction.
- Experience coordinating with multiple technical and operational SMEs to achieve necessary DISN technical actions.
- Experience in effectively coordinating with personnel that are located in multiple time zones across multiple DoD organizations
- Basic understanding of various network technologies to enable effective communication with DISA customers to plan DISN service transitions.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft tools (Powerpoint, Excel, etc.) and experience developing and briefing tracking tools and customer status packages.
